Ju-Jutsu is a realistic, weaponless self-defense system for women and men that can be learned at any age and executed at any age. At PSV Neuss you will find useful defense techniques for everyday life, modern fitness training and much more in a pleasant training atmosphere.
PSV Neuss attaches great importance to providing the athletes with an effective ju-jutsu training with the greatest possible benefit right from the start. The Ju-Jutsu developed in Germany unites elements of classical jiu jitsu, judo, karate or aikido but also e.g. of boxing modern grappling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. It is constantly evolving and adapting to current findings of violence prevention.
Courtesy, humility and respect are the foundation of etiquette and are symbolized by the greeting (Rei). In Ju-Jutsu, etiquette is not just an external form, but an inner attitude, and finally the way to inner peace and balance.
History of Ju-Jutsu
India is regarded as the root of almost all Asian martial arts, from where they spread across Southeast Asia to China and Japan and assumed different characteristics.
The Jiu-Jitsu was introduced in Germany by Erich Rahn. Through his father, a respected merchant, Erich Rahn had contact with Japanese already in his early childhood. He learned jiu-jitsu from Mr. Higashi, who had impressed him in a show fight. In Berlin in 1906 he opened the first Jiu-Jitsu school in Germany.
